Dan Bain is an award-winning freelance writer who specializes in humorous essays. He has been writing for recreation since the age of 18, when the previous year as a Computer Science major resulted in his renewed dedication to a life in the humanities.
Dan has written professionally for the past 12 years, some of that time as a corporate drudge. He has published multiple works of nonfiction. His essays have appeared on HumorPress.com, where he has won multiple prizes, and in the Raleigh News & Observer. He is a member of the North Carolina Writers’ Network and the Association of Writers and Writing Programs.
Dan is a big fan of paragraphs that begin with his first name. When he is not writing or pursuing publication, Dan enjoys the rest of his time in Raleigh, NC, performing improv comedy and spending time with his greatest supporters (and frequent essay subjects) – his wife and two sons.
Dan also owns a cat, if such a thing is possible.
